Anyone have hotel recommendations for PHX close to the field?

Cool. Still checking with work to see I can make it out that weekend.

I would PM AZ_Lurker.

However, the fields are located in a place where you would have to drive there. So I would recommend staying near ASU in Tempe. Lots of bars, lots of fun and lots of "fun" girls. On the Weekend, probably only a 15 minute drive tops to the fields and to the airport.

Agreed. Stay anywhere close to Mill Ave and University and you will be walking distance to all the "fun" bars and girls. Most of the local kickball people hang out at a few different bars within a mile radius or so of there after kickball games. Plus you will be about 3 miles or so from the fields which is a super cheap cab ride.

Let us know where you decide to book so hopefully any other teams coming in from out of town can book there as well. Why there isn't a sponsor hotel involved is beyond me.

I would say Twin Palms is a good choice http://twinpalmshotel.com/. It's about 1/2 a mile from Downtown Mill Ave area and only about 5miles from the fields.

Chad was actually looking into having a Host Hotel but wasn't sure what the actual out of town interest in the tourney would be. Twin Palms is one of the hotels he mentioned looking into

Been busy getting details of the SoFL tourney finalized, haven't really been keeping up with the details of the NAKAD tourney. Whiskey Richard is definitely playing, but I'm turning over the control to Mouth for that tourney so Lee and I can focus on SFKO.

Is there somebody I can contact?

Thanks.

Wish I had more info for you. With my team in FL the weekend before, haven't really kept up with any details. We'll be playing in this though

I spoke to Chad, one of the other owners and all they need is 6 teams and this tourney is a go and first place is $1500. If more teams sign up (which there is a lot of interest from local WAKA teams) the price fund will increase with the number of teams. If we hit 10 teams or more, more places will be paid out.

b. Pitching can be one or two bounces prior to home plate, determined prior to the tournament by NAKAD.

So did they decide to do 2 bounce then?

If its one bounce...that will make a HUGE difference! Advantage to the defense

Obviously!

In my opinion, if they keep the NAKAD strike zone (1.5') they need to have 2 bounce. If they decrease the strike zone to 1', then 1 bounce would be good.

1.5' with overhand and 1 bounce would be insane.

Yeah, I just noticed that rule in the captain's packet. They really should make a decision on this

Aaron, was it you or Lee that said they knew the captain of Mighty Moose Knucklers. Help spread the word out. I heard that Sir Kix-A-Lot and Straight To The Bank where interested but not sure if they'd be willing to go up to the challenge.

I'm pretty sure WKYBs is done for awhile. Their Capt. Chris Mallory just got married and is taking a break. Lisa K, the other capt. is coming off any injury and won't be ready to play for a couple more months

I'm sure they'll just do something at Boulder's. Let's get as many teams signed up as possible and we can take the Out of Towners on a Mill bar crawl.

**Updated**

Got some questions answered last night. This tourney will be a two bounce tourney. Registration closes Feb 18th. Teams have to be paid by then. Rosters don't need to be completed until game day.
After party is still up in the air. I suggested somewhere close to Mill, so a Mill Ave Bar crawl can happen later that evening.

With Registration Closing on the 18th, time to start recruiting teams hardcore and get some of these AZ WAKA teams to sign up. Roughly $35 per person is a pretty good deal for 4 games of kickball(minimum) and I am guessing some free beer during the after party!

I'm actually hoping Swayzies Crazies and Bustin Rubbers (2 teams from WAKA AZ Fire) will make a presence. Those 2 teams are the only relevant ones in that division.
