Pretty sure it's up to the captains to decide how many players they want to bring with them

yeah, i'm sure teams can be larger than that, was just noting the 10/4 rule thinking that it was for fielding.

Isn't that the Circuit Rules? I doubt NAKAD will go with that format. From what I heard, bunting will be allowed but they're still debating on whether or not they're going to allow overhand pitching.

I'm just speculating based off of was on the website, although I think going with Circuit Rules would be a good idea since very few people out here who are familar with them that it could put things on a level playing ground if you have teams from multiple leagues.

Both WAKA and NAKAD play with 11 Fielders. I doubt they would change their format to compliment Circuit Rules.

Circuit rules are more similar to WAKA then NAKAD.

NAKAD Tourney should have NAKAD rules!

Butter's said they are going to allow bunting. Would make sense to allow this to attract the WAKA teams on over.

Bunt line and 1 bounce that has to be "underhand"

I don't mind them adding bunting. He actually said they might add bunting to Thursday night kickball, so by this time, bunting could be a NAKAD rule. More referring to the pitching.

"underhand" - meaning under 90 degrees / ball must be under your shoulder through the pitching motion (best visual)

Bunts have to pass the diagonal line between 1st and 3rd to count unless the Charger or Catcher decides to prematurely intercept the ball before it crosses the line.

No overhand pitching.

there's also some smaller differences, like the pitcher doesn't have to start in the pitcher's circle and the encroachment penalty is different but those don't come up all that often.

So it's 1 bounce and you can bunt as long as you don't bunt well.

I can see how these rules make a big difference. Instead of the catcher being one of the best players, it's probably one of the weakest. Makes it more like a co-ed softball fielding setup.

Well, if that's what you're into. It seems like you all like this league. I'm not a fan of being able to "hide" weak players, though.

Actually you learn to adapt and be competitive with the rules given to you. I choose to play NAKAD over WAKA, because the league is ran so much better then WAKA. You get more playing time. Your team doesn't have 20+ players on it. Better social atmosphere. Teams are way less salty.

Any game that has winners and losers can be "competitive." I'm not a social scene guy, so that's never an issue, but I'm sure it is run better than WAKA... kinda hard not to

I really don't care what the rules are, like you said, it will be competitive if there are winners and losers. I just like to compete and play kickball. Hell, we had a blast at the sloshball tourney, but we wanted to win as well. So we got a little competitive.

Glad they're having a tourney, it's long overdue out here. Have get the word out to other WAKA leagues so we can get a good amount of teams.

There's going to be some sore legs for the people going to the South Florida tourney the weekend before.

When it is announced by NAKAD, then we can recruit WAKA teams.

Alright pending "official" annoucement and rules...Sofa King is in...I guess this is as good a time as any to say that Sofa King Good is officially out for South Florida. That weekend does not work for us as team. There may a few of us travelling to Florida anyway, but that too is unconfirmed.

That weekend does not work for us as team. There may a few of us travelling to Florida anyway, but that too is unconfirmed.

I spoke to one of the owners (Butter's) yesterday. He said to go ahead and spread the word. The tourney will be on February 26th, according to him. Registration is already open. I'd say go ahead and register your squad Lightsout.

Not sure how the format will go but if teams are to be seeded, I'd say Sofa King Good would definitely be the #1 seed.

Just need some of the WAKA teams to make a presence. Hopefully Straight To The Bank, Sir Kix-A-Lot, Swayzies Crazies & Bustin Rubbers will step up.

Feb 26th is a long time away. I would ask, what NAKAD teams would join? How many "all-star" / "availables" teams join?
